Can anyone tell me if it's worth upgrading from an athlon 1.2 200fsb to an athlon xp 2000+, and if so would I see a noticeable increase in speed or performance?
Current system spec-
Athlon1.2 200fsb
Geforce 4 mx440
512mb ram
Windows 98 |

depends on what you want to do with the machine really.... as of now, i don't plan to upgrade from a 1600+ athlon, all the trouble to change the bios, it's settings, and for an office app? naaaaaaaw. for games it might be worth it, or video maybe, if i was editing or something like that, a lot of it. but for now, mine works fine with just the increased memory. now maybe if i had win 2000 or above, it may be worth it, i could put a 2200+ and more memory, and rock, if i was running a server, say. |
