I had to reformate my computer and it would not let me install windows 98 on the regular Cd Rom drive so I had to use my CDRW drive now that i got it installed it freezes up on me and wont let me even control alt ,delet I have to shut computer down,,I cant listen to music or burn cds any one can help me with this???? |

What do you mean when you say that you couldn't use the cd-rom drive. Do you mean you couldn't find the drive letter for the cd-rom or maybe it didn't load the driver for it. On the other hand installing win98 using your cdrw is just fine. Two things to try is, if you have a cd for the motherboard run it and install all the drivers.The second item is to install directx. This will update many of the drivers and could solve a problem of an outdated driver freezing the computer. If this fails it might just be a bad install and I would format the hard drive and start over. Remembering to use the motherboard cd and directx afterwards. |
