I'm trying to upgrade the RDRAM (RIMM)in my DELL Dimension 8100 PC and tried to find RAM from different vendors. I received a warning from some techs that DELL uses proprietary RAM, Even if not that much different than other brands , could not necessarily work properly in my DELL. I do not want to buy RAM that won't work, as it is not that easy to return, since I have to mail order eveyrthing ( my town or anything close) doesn't even sell RDRAM unless you take out a mortage.
Any insight on this issue would be greatly appreciate
