When trying to make use of some old socket 7 AT parts, I've come across a new (to me ) problem. On two different builds , No mouse shows up.Does not seem to make a difference when a different mouse is used , of if the serial port cable is changed. also have tried some wierd BIOS settings-- No difference-- Both these machines work well with the keyboard controls.Any ideas? |

Up-date--- At about 3:00 oclock this morning I noticed on bootup on one machine that it was showing EDO ram in bank 0 none in bank 1--- seems some miss matched 72 pin simms got mixed into my stash of EDO memory. Thanks anyway C.W. |

Upon booting up, get Windows splah screen, then blank with a pop-up saying Windows did not see a mouse connected to your serial port; it is now safe to plug it in. This occurs even with the mouse pluged in or not. Cursor arrow remains frozen in place; and keyboard arrows do not function.Tried using floppy bootup-to no avail. BIOS is set to boot A,C,HD. Also tried to boot with WIN98Se CD-no avail. |
