Error message please help

I HAVE RECEIVED THIS EXACT MESSAGE WHILE PLAYING A COMPUTER GAME THAT CAUSES MY MACHINE TO LOCK UP AND I AM FORCED TO REBOOT. I HAVE UPDATED MY VIDEO DRIVERS AND AM RUNNING ON DIRECTX 8.1.

THE ERROR MESSAGE IS AS FOLLOWS:

VMCPD(01)+0000061C ERROR:0D:0028:C0058:C00582C8

PLEASE HELP!!

if you could give us the version of windows you are using, the game it errors on, and some of the hardware you have, it'd sure help us to look it up.

in the mean time, try that link for an explanation. it might help you solve the problem, or at least get an idea of what's causing it. there are also articles at microsoft too, concerning drivers, directx, etc, but until we can get the particulars, it'd be hard to pin it down.

I am curerntly using Windows Me version, the game is Europa Universalis II and the graphic card is an GeForce 2 Ultra 64 meg card.

What else would you need, im a lil new to this type of thing....

have you applied any patches to this game? i noticed several for different versions. they don't say what the patches fix though. as far as drivers for the video, have you updated those to the latest ones? you can also try to slow down directx acceleration, see if that helps. this error refers to the math co-processor driver, what cpu and motherboard do you have?
