I have an emachines laptop. It has worked fine since I have owned it. I had it at work one day and it was working fine. When I got home that night and turned it on, the video was VERY poor and it told me that it couldn't find anything and dialog boxes were all over the screen asking me where the drivers for everything were. Well, I reinstalled Windows and everything was working fine. The next morning when I got to work and turned it on, it beeped 3 times (which it doesn't normally do) and the screen just stays black. I have rebooted several times and even tried inserting the Win 98 cd-rom. No matter what, it stays black. Any ideas? |

I would think it's one of two things. My first choice would be bad memory. My second choice would be a bad video card. |

Why would they just go bad? It worked great one night while I was using it and then the next morning, the problem occurred. |
