I have aquired a Compaq Presario 2900D laptop computer. When I turn it on, it goes through the POST and then this error:
162-System Options Not Set--Run Setup

Then it reboots and continues this same process--over and over indefinately. What could the problem be and why can't I get it to boot to a bootdisk or anything. Just this continuous circle? Thanks for any responses.

Try holding down the fn key while turning on the computer. When the error 162-System Options Not Set comes up release the fn key.
Also try entering cmos by holding down the f10 key during bootup. When the cmos page comes up just save default values and reboot.
