I have a COMPAQ Armada M700 which I just purchased through an Internet auction site whose name everyone would quickly recognize (it rhymes with "freeway").

The computer arrived with no operating system, no files, no nothing. I have installed Windows 95 (using the set of 14 3.5" floppies), and now my monitor image is a small rectangle (about 25% of the total screen area) centered in the middle of the screen. I suspect I need some sort of video driver (?) but I don't know squat about this stuff. What should I do?

http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/armada/us/locate/3_1009.html is the page for your drivers at compaq/hp. it uses the rage video card, download and install that driver and see if it helps.
