I tried the Dell Website but got absolutely nowhere. I'd like to have a faster system but I don't know where to start, or even if it can be done, or where to get compatible parts.
I sincerely appreciate this site, I've always gotten answers to my questions that were worth reading. I would recommended you to anybody.
As Always,
Arlene

Sorry about the typo, there is no z in the model number.

http://support.ap.dell.com/docs/dta/XPSPCMT/00000006.htm I hope this helps you out. It does look like a possible upgrade to 166MHZ CPU on some of these models. You will have to check if the jumper layout is the same on your particular mainboard.

Hi E.S.
I went to the URL you sent and the settings look completely different from the Front Panel and Jumper Details on the specs I downloaded for my model System Board 221564-F01. There are 123 sequences(4)labeled A-B-C-D. Check it out at http://www.ari-service.com/blender/data/29709/CindyMLB1.gif
Does that look like I already have the 166MHZ?
Sincerely,
As Always,
Arlene

Hi E.S.
Sorry about the mix-up, I had another question out there about my other computer that I'm having trouble getting a patch to correct Windows 95 and the IDE controller issue and I downloaded all the information on that computer because I had no handbook at the time.

The URL I sent you is for the AST, Advantage 9306.

Again I apologize.

As Always,
Arlene

It's me again,
Since I don't have the handbook for the Dell either, I'll book mark the URL you gave me and see if I can download the specs to check them out.

I've been up all night, can you tell?

As Always,
Arlene

Hi Arlene,
Wondered why you would post a URL for an AST when your original post was about a Dell, glad you cleared it up. LOL.

Hi E.S.,
Thanks for not thinking I'm a nut case. The URL was a big help and I got all the info I needed.
Thanks again,
As Always,
Arlene
