i restarted my computer and a fire truck sound came out of the system speaker and it would not boot. the sound was a long high pitch then a lower long pitch. i opened it up and noticed that the cpu fan would not go as fast as it usually goes and the chasis fan would vibrate a little bit (you could tell electricity is getting to it) and when i turn it off the fan budges. does this have anything to do with the motherboard or power supply or ...?
Please help

It can be alarming (no pun intended)when this happens. Depending on your mainboard, you
A)have a bad cpu fan
B)have a bad system case fan
C)memory needs to be reseated
D)video card needs to be reseated
Most common is some failing fan usually cpu heatsink fan if you notice it doesn't spin as fast as it used to chances are pretty good that the mainboard is also detecting it and not allowing the system to boot. Older DFI boards used to play a little song, I think it was, "It's a Small World."

i have numerous times reseated all cards and memory and tried my case fan in another computer of mine and it worked so ill try to get a new heatsink fan.

I also have a problem with my computor sounding like a fire engine or ambulance.Only it is very slow & intermittent high pitched noise that echoes throughout the whole house.
I think it has something to do with the mouse.
If we unplug the PS/2 adapter the noise seems to stop. But if we plug it back in,it starts up again.
We tried uninstalling the mouse software & re-installing but nothing changed.
We took the mouse back to the store where we bought it. They plugged it into one of their computors,it was fine!!
Now I keep getting a message at startup that there is a hardware error. Is this something I can fix myself or do I have to get a computor expert in to fix? I am not too keen on doing that unless there is no other way.
The noise is really annoying!!
Would appreciate anyones input here!
message at start up that
