DC Input By-pass

Dc input on my laptop is broken technicians tell me I have to replace motherboard, since I use this laptop as a desktop I was wondering if i can by-pass dc input conencting through the battery input, I will appreciate any comments.

it is possible to open the case after getting a dc connector from a used laptop hopefully the same kind, and solder the new one back on the board. if you can't do it, take it to a shop and have them do it. may be a few bucks, but well worth it if you plan on keeping it a long time.

Thank you win, I allready asked technicians and they told me I should change the motherboard, I know that your solution works in some shops and I will try to make them do it for me, anyway, for my Ego sake or even for "General Culture" I would like to ask if my solution of connecting DC input directly to de battery input works, is viable or even safe, I will appreciate any comments.
