i need help

hello i have a old computer. even though its very old i have dsl so i can go online fine. but its always sooo slow after i click something it takes 4ever 2 load up. and i cant never have 2 thing runing at the same time. so the Q is wut is the thing i should get to boost up my computer? wut is ram? is that the thing that is holding me back? if u tell me wut items to get to upgrade that will really help me. thx sooooo much 4 ur time

1 more thing i have a really old computer its a p2 dell and kinda crapy so tell me something that i can really add that will work. thx agian

How much memory do you have? Right click on My Computer and select properties. Ram is memory usually listed as MB of ram or in some cases GB of ram, the more you have the better. 32 MB is considered to little now a days to be very productive.

I started out with and old 386 at work (many years ago) with 4 megs of ram and everytime after a few minutes on the internet the browser would freeze up solid using either Netscape or IE.

Eventually put 4 more megs of ram in it and this made a big difference as it was then reasonably stable. Still surfing was slow and it was quicker/best to browse with images turned off in the browser settings.
