I have got the main board ASUS P2B-B. There is a chip ASUS AS97127F on this board.
What is this? I think it's some hardware monitor but there is a chip Winbond W83781D
on this m/b - the hardware monitor too. For what using two monitors?
May be, anyboby knows where i can find some data sheet on the chip ASUS AS97127F?

As best I can tell the chip interfaces the Winbond Monitoring IC to the CMOS chip.

I want to add that monitor programs (not all, only i used) find the Winbond chip
(show temperature, fan speed, voltages) but don't find the ASUS chip.

Like I said before, I believe the Asus chip simply is an interface between the Winbond chip and BIOS so the Temp's and fan speeds can be seen in CMOS.

But why? Chip Winbond has own addresses for reading/writing its registers by CPU.
BIOS can read information straight from Winbond chip.
May be ASUS chip doing the same function that the Winbond chip and it is using only
by BIOS. But in this case it must has its own addresses for CPU and i could read or
write an information from/to it by some programm.
As a matter of fact, i would like to know the ASUS chip can set of fan speed or not.
Because Winbond W83781D can't set of fan speed.

"As a matter of fact, i would like to know the ASUS chip can set of fan speed or not."

That would be a good feature if it was supported, perhaps if we both bombarded Asus engineers with questions we would get an answer and some spec's.

Good idea. I have written the letter to ASUS support. Perhaps somebody will answer me.
Thank for advice.
