We have a EMachine AMD 1800+. Mother board is a L7VMM .What is the most that I can upgrade the CPU to? Will AMD and Intel Pentium 4 change out.

AMD and Pentium 4 is *NOT* interchangeable. Depending on the BIOS revision you should be able to go as far up the AMD line as XP 2600+ without any problems.
