I had a Samsung DVD-ROM SD-608 on my old Win98 comptuer and it worked fine. I upgraded to WinXP, and though it is technically compatible, now it won't play DVDs, but will read cd's and cd-rw's. The driver is updated too, and the region has been set to U.S. What is wrong? |

You may need an updated codec with XP in order to fully utilize the drive. This is usually done through third party software such as WinDVD or PowerDVD. Installing XP compatable DVD software ensures that DVD disks are properly handled. The codec from these softwares are also migrated into Media Player. |
