Hi.. I checked all your messages cant find my problem
I have a compacq 2000 5200 mmx / windows 98
this is all I know so far as it was for sale cheep and got it.
Now it boots till the window logo and it stops there it keeps running and running but nothing .. just sits there
Can you help me?

Hi Granny, Try booting in safe mode by pressing the F8 key before the windows screen comes on. If the timing is correct you should get a menu that comes up and than select with arrow up or down SAFE Mode. Than press enter. If the computer boots into windows in safe mode you might have some driver error or configuration error that isn't letting windows boot properly. Post back here with the results. |

Hi Granny, I had the same problem with my machine once. It turn out to be a faulty sound card that was locking up the machine when switched on. Remove any sound, modems etc then reboot. Replace them one by one and see if this is the problem. |
