I have an AMD XP2600 computer with an ATI 9200. The computer is less than a week old and yesterday I formatted the hard drive to put XP Pro on instead of the XP Home that was bundled with the system. However, after the install I can't get any graphics drivers to work. When trying to install the catalyst drivers, it says no "Video driver inf. Please revert to standard display adapter first." I tried this, but for some reason I haven't got any standard drivers in the Windows list. I tried installing Windows 2000 and there wasn't one there either despite both of these Win Versions working fine on my old computer. The drivers missing are the 'Video Controller' and 'Video Controller(VGA)'.I've tried all drivers for the MSI 6712 motherboard off the MSI website, but nothing's helped. There is also a device conflict, but even after wiping windows and changing IRQ's in the bios, it doesn't set the IRQ's back. Please help, cos I don't wanna send my new computer away for three weeks. Thankyou.

Would help to know what VIA drivers you have tried, and whether your card is *Made by* or *Powered by* ATI. This can make a difference in what video drivers to use.

I have the VIA 4 in 1 drivers, the newest ones from the MSI website. I'm quite sure that it's made by ATI, at least it has the ATI logo on the card.

What is the IRQ conflict? If it is USB or unknown device you might have to wrestle that one down first before the vid drivers can go in.

The conflicts are with the PCI to ISA bridge, however the conflicting devices sometimes change after I've reinstalled the OS.

PCI to ISA bridge conflicts are usually resolved by setting the irq's to auto in BIOS with XP Pro. If you already have tried the auto setting sometimes a BIOS update (when available) will be required to fix the problem. There are no specific bios updates for your board that specifically address the issue at this time. But the board has been available for about a year now so check your bios version against what is available at http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/bios/bos/spt_bos_detail.php?UID=362

I did think of this as well, but the Bios version is already the latest.I was also told to get the latest VIA 4in1 Hyperiam drivers, but again, I already have these as well.I've checked my driver versions for everything in the computer but they're all the latest versions.

When you had XP home on the system, is there a chance that somewhere on the XP Home disk is a special version of drivers? It happens alot with Micron PC's.
