I am installing a new CD-rom into my compaq presario 5000. I am trying to remove the old cd-rom but I can't seem to get it out. There are no screws, just these white tabs things on the sides of the drive but they won't budge. Can someone please help me out.

Assuming you have already removed the drive from the machine, get a very small flat blade screw driver and pry gently between the drive and the white rails, the tabs used on those are a tight fit but will pull out with some nudging.
