i have a bp810 motherboard, and its dead as a doornail, execpt for the led near the power plug. any help would be great, ive tried a diferant p/s it has a standard plug, but all i gotwas that LED, thanks for any info dennis |

If you get absolutely nothing on your display once you attempt to boot, then either your motherboard or CPU have gone bad. By nothing on the display, I mean you will not even get the POST screen. Sometimes you will hear more than one beep, if so, check your motherboard documentation to see what this BIOS code directs you too. Typically a bad motherboard will direct you to the CPU since the CPU isn't getting a signal, but the problem won't be a CPU, but the motherboard. The quickest test (if no BIOS beeps), is to replace your CPU with a known good one. If that doesn't work, then a new motherboard is in the near future. Last, if you DO see something on the screen, say "the model of CPU you have) then it freezes at this point, then there is a ADG or PCI slot defective. Place your video card in another slot. |
