I have recently upgraded an old Acer Across 166 to a 233MHz Pentium MMX and changed the opperating system to windows M.E. the hard drive is a 6.4 and it has 160 meg of sdram it works fine but the monitor will not work in anything but VGA mode the motherboard is an ACER V58LA and it has onboard video which shows as ATI mach 64 ( 264VT3 ) i the setting can't be altered in the setup it just won't budge from minimum VGA can anyone suggest either a cure or a way to bypass the onboard video so that I can fit a seperate board as you can tell not only am I a silver surfer but a limited knowledge dabler, but I believe if you don't try you will never learn Best Wishes and fingers crossed Twiggy |

The Mach64VT isn't supported for WinMe as you probably already have guessed. Some of the Acer motherboards had a jumper to disable the onboard video. If you can get the exact model Acer, I probably have a manual about with the correct jumper if available. |
