Hi. I have a computer that when booted up last time, it shot sparks out and then started smoking. I suppose the power supply (not switch) is bad, but I am wondering if there could be something else as well.

Only way to tell is to replace the power supply and turn the system on and boot to your operating system and check for possible damage to components.
