CPU upgrade

Want to upgrade my Presario 7598 which has a P3 600 MGz processor to a 933 or 1.2 GHz P3. Socket 370.

1. Will there be compatability issues?
2. Will I need to change Bios or other components?
3. Is it just a matter of unplugging the old and plugging in the new one?
4. Where can I get instructions/help?

Answer #1 If the computer doesn't recognise the new CPU you may have to search Compaq for a Bios Flash.

Answer #3 Sometimes. I doubt the 1.2GHZ would work but the 933MHz would probably drop right in.
Answer #4 Compaq should have detailed instructions on how to update the bios attached to bios download.
