Well me being the idiot that I am installed Ram wrong... ok I have a HP Pavilion 753n with pentium 4. I had 512 MB RAM and I tried adding 256 in the other slot, I didnt pop it in all the way and I turned on the computer and now it wont start, it just makes one long beeping noise after another. I think I fried both of the sticks of RAM, if so I will just buy a new one tomorrow, I want to know if I fried my motherboard or something. Thanks for any help.
Here is the type of ram my computer has:
Memory Type
DDR
Memory Speed
PC2100
Memory Sockets
2 DIMM
Maximum Memory
1 GB
I dont know what the new stick of ram was, all I know is that it was 184 pin and I put it wrong.

If you put it in backwards you may have damaged the board along with the memory controller on the board. The only way to really find out is to replace the memory and install it the right way of course.
