Have a PC Pentium III with Win98 2nd edition, and many things on Hdd. Probably cause of virus, the system now start, pass the post, load boot files, show Win98 first splash screen, and then, before showing again, as ussually, the splash screen of win98, finish the boot on DOS like no Windows exists. Please a solution, no the re-install all again, solution please!!
I've tried re-copying the system files from a floppy, and rescue olders system backups registry, but nothing. Thanks.

First of all, check to make sure that you don't have any floppy disks or cd-roms in their respective drives.
If you don't have any disks in, try this from the command prompt:
c:
cd windows
win
Also, from the DOS prompt, try scandisk to see if there may be any problems with the hard drive. When it asks if you want to perform the surface scan, go ahead and let it (it will take a while). |
