My question is very similar to many who faces onboard video. I am trying to install a Diamond Viper V330 8mb video card on a IBM 300GL 300mhz. Although, the Viper CD/Rom only had the WIN95 drivers I downloaded the WIN98 drivers. During bootup the Win 98 screen comes up, but the system either reboots or it freezes. Only way to bring up Win 98 is on a safe mode and reboot with 16 color combination. 256 and 16 bit is offered during normal boot, but after changing to 256 the system freezes. Is this a onboard video error? The bios states 4096K onboard video. How can I bypass the onboard and to recognize the Viper V330? Thank you, |
