my mum's having a problem with her computer just now, the problem is that when she boots the pc it starts but the moniter does'nt go on, there's no light or anything on, she say's she's not changed any setting's or anything like that, can anyone let me know any possibilites to what could be causing this problem. i've been down and tried booting in safe mode and i've check all cables and the fuse has been checked and there's no problem there. any suggestions very much appreciated. THANX |

Well, I'm hardly qualified to help, but since I am about to relate my own troubles with that as a coponent, I will tell you my first check for that. When I have video problems, the first thing I do is check to be sure the video card is plugged in. When ever I check to see if anything is plugged in, I take it out and put it back in. It might be superstition, but it just seems better than pushing. The only other suggestion is to try a different monitor to ruly out the monitor as the problem. Then if you have a different video card, you can try that (of course, that will require that you load a different driver if the card is a different brand/model than the one you have). |
