(This is a repost, more specific title as the rules say. Please delete the other one, "2 Broken PC's")

Ok... bout a month back my mums pc stopped workin. (I believe there was a power surge but i'm not sure). Finished college now so i thought i'd take a look at it.

It was switching on, but nothing comin up on screen, nothing at all happened. Decided to put her parts in my pc to find the the problem... graphics card: fine
ram: fine.

Assumed it must be her mobo, and bought a new one. Put my mobo in her pc, kept the new one for myself.

Set up her pc with my previous mobo... same sh*t... switching on, nothing happening.
Set my one up, but forgot to plug in the cpu fan... was working but overheated... now my pc is doin the same sh*t as hers (switching on but nothing happening).

Bought two new processors today believing that MUST be the problem. Put em in, same sh*t.

I dont know wat da f**ks goin on. Anyone got any clue wat the problem could be?? Thanx in advance!

OS: WinXP
Processors: Old - athlon xp 1700 & 2000, Just bought athon xp 2000 & 2400
Mobo: Mainboard K7S5A
Ram: 512 DDR & 256 SD

if absolutely nothing at all is happening on POST (except the lights coming on on the case) then i can't think of it being anything else except a corrupted or dead BIOS. try flashing it.

how do you reflash your bios if the screen is blank? how do you do anything with a computer when it won't even wake the monitor up from sleep (yes, the monitor is fine, so was second monitor used to check, and so was second vid card to check first)? I have a fairly new PC, rebooted one day and the monitor went to sleep and did not wake up. So, I cleared CMOS. rebooted, monitor woke up. redid bios settings and rebooted, monitor went to sleep. cleared cmos again, this time the monitor stayed asleep. Thought I screwed up Motherboard. Bought NEW one. Installed it and still monitor sleeps (as does teh second monitor).

Any suggestions please!!!

aww im sorry to hear this man. I'm having a similar problem with a customers computer. But as for this one.. It could be the hard drive or the power supply.
Try disconnecting every device (hard drive, cd-rom, nic cards, modems) then power it up. If the same stuff happens then try out a known working PSU. (power supply unit)

Try a new Power Supply.
