I am an amatuer. I have a Dell Laptop - Latitude XP475C with Windows 95. It was working fine until today. Now when I power it up I get a screen with the following lines of information and then just a blinking cursor. It does not respond to any keyboard input. I can hear the hard disk spinning. What might be wrong?

This is just a guess....
Your hard drive has failed/is failing. It seems to be recognizing your BIOS, so it can finish POST.?...
Can you enter setup?
Try bouncing between pressing del/F1/F2...
And btw, why Win95?...

I am having the same problem, my laptop will not boot properly. I can get into setup and I notice that the primary drive is not detected...what does this mean and can I fix the problem

Chances are since the drive is not being detected in cmos that you have a bad hard drive.
