Hi, I have an AMD k6/2 450 running at 500 with 256 megs of ram, Aladdin 5 chipset, ATI Rage Fury agp, SBLive Value, Toshiba DVD, Mitsumi CDRW, Western Digital 20.4 gig ata 66 connected to a Promise Ultra 66 controller, and a 8.4 gig maxtor drive.

I think this is hardware related since i have formatted and reloaded several times.

Whenever i do anything processor intensive, (movies, mp3's, buring cd's) the computer slows to a crawl... I cannot even play an mp3 without 'skipping' I recently began experiencing problems booting up, and i disabled the cpu cache. Would this affect system performance to the point mentioned above? is the sound problems related to the Windows 2000 drivers?

Thank you for your input

Hi,

I wouldn't advise overclocking that chip, you would be better off running it at its original settings, especially as disabling the cache will really really effect the performance.
