Hopin someone can help. I built a computer no too long ago, and it has been subject to random reboots and freezing. I have tried different sticks of memory and that didn't seem to affect it. All of the components were bought brand new. I've heard that the most common cause is a faulty or insufficient power supply. Although my ps is a cheap one, it is rated for 400w, which seems like it ought to be enough for the specs listed below. One other thing. When it reboots, scandisk never runs, and I've also noticed a single "click" that comes from inside the case just before it freezes or reboots. Anyone with any ideas would be greatly appreciated! QDI Superb 4x Mainboard Intel Celeron 1.8 Ghz 384 MB RAM (Have tried with 126, 256, and 384) 60 GB HDD DVD ROM 128 MB NVIDIA based Video card Oh yeah, i've checked CPU temp. several times, and that seems fine. It makes no difference whether the machine has been running for 3 minutes or 3 days. |

Windows XP? Disable auto reboot, in control panel> system> advanced> startup and recovery. This allows the user to view the error when it occurs (AKA Bluescreen). |

Okay. I did that... will wait and see if there's an error next time...I also just replaced the power supply...with any luck, that might help...? Thanks for your help!! I'll post an error if I receive one. |
