I want to add an IDE hard drive to a system with an existing SCSI primary.
Is this possible?

I would like the SCSI to remain the primary/boot as it works fine and is already loaded. I just want the extra space on the IDE.

Yes it's possible, with most systems. Though the default tends to be "boot from ide first" in bios settings.

I work with a Dell system that uses this configuration. Dell placed the IDE drive on the secondary controller with nothing on the primary.
