Actually it will flash thkeyboard lights. Put together a matsonic board with a 450 K6-2 video card etc turn the power on and not even the processor fan will run-it is hooked directly to the p/s. It is a atx and I haven't used that before but I can't figure why not even the fan will run. HELP! Please. I did try another power source- same thing. Thanks in advance for any help you can give

Is it ATX only? Or is the optional AT power connector there also? I know on the Matsonic boards with both, there is a jumper that must be set to the one being used.

Double check all jumpers including and especially any that relate to ram voltage, and cpu voltage and speed. Look also for a jumper that forces you to use atx power. I would also try a fan that hooks to the fan connector on the mainboard, some boards have a security feature and require an Intelligent fan.

If you have an AT powersupply, try hooking that up and testing it out. YOu dont have to actually install it into the case to do this.

I would also check that all cards are seated firmly, this will cause exactly the symptoms you describe, especially the video card. Try removing cards one by one to see if this makes a difference. You can also remove the vid card totally to see if it boots and gives a post error code, this would indicate a bad vid card.

Check for poor case solder, I saw this once where bad soldering had caused an improper ground, causing a short.
