I wish to run Winroute Pro at home with a 1 Meg Nortel Networks Modem. In order to setup one system as an Internet Gateway with Winroute I need to install 2 netcards in the system.

Is this possible and what special configurations will I need? If any.

I would prefer to keep the system Win98 if at all possible.

Thanks
Trish

I myself am just learning about this and also, not familiar with Winroute Pro. From everything I have found so far, in order to share the connection with a DSL modem by LAN, you must have two NIC's installed on the gateway machine. My efforts so far have been nil. A little more digging though, I believe that they may both need to be PCI, or at least it helps. I was trying with a Kingston PCI and a 3Com ISA. From what I have found is referring to Win98 so I'm not sure if this would still be the case with software such as Winroute Pro. Maybe the article at http://www.timhiggins.com/ppd/lansetup.htm will help a little. I haven't had a chance to get back to it yet.

Let me know if you come up with anything interesting or helpful.
