I had my computer on for a day and then I went to use it. I tried to click on a icon on my desktop, and it froze the whole system up. I couldn't even do cntrl+alt+delete to logoff. I had to turn it off with the off button on the hard drive. Now when I try to log on I get to the point where my wallpaper has loaded but it freezes up my screen again. Any suggestions on what is wrong?? |

One possibility is that Windows is trying to load a program that causes the entire system to freeze. If you can get into Windows, check in the Control Panel going to System, and click the Device Manager tab. See if there are any (!) marks next to any components. Try disabling virus scanners from booting up with Windows. These have been known to cause errors at startup such as freezing and not being able to use Ctrl+Alt+Del. Reply and let me know how this helps. |
