I am trying to put a Diamond Viper 550 AGP in a Epox Socket 7 motherboard, using Windows95 as the OS. Everything runs great except that Windows wont accept anything but Standard VGA as the driver. I've installed the AGP mobo drivers and used the latest drivers from Diamond and Nvidia and still cannot get the Viper to run correctly. Thanks for any suggestions. |

what kind of chipset are you using? also, you might have to re-configure the memory and/or irq addresses in safe mode using the standard vga ones. first, load the vga drivers and then note the irq and memory addresses. then load the viper drivers. reboot to safe mode. then find the viper in control panel, set it to use manual settings, then enter the noted settings from above. then reboot. i had to get the stb velocity 128zx to work using this method on my fic pa-2013 mb. also, my board is very picky about video cards. yours might be as well. it uses a via chipset. |

You must have at least Win95 OSR2.1 to support AGP |
