I have a PC with win2k Pro. It can't find the master record off the Hard drive, but will boot to the win2k setup CD. When I try to rerun setup to repair, it sees the disk but doesn't recognize the format (which is ntfs!). I also receive an IO disk error 00000100. Does this sound like a failing hard drive? Suggestions? Is there a win2k bootable disk I can download (since I can't boot up on the PC to create one!!)
thanks for any help!

I take it you did not choose the option of your 3 disks and an emergency repair disk. If you did, boot to disk one and two and follow the steps to repair the "bad sector" from there. If not...go to www.ntfaq.com and search for the delpart.exe link. This is a DOS program that you can dl to a floppy and see all partitions including NTFS. Delete and start over.
