No printer port after starting comput...

When my computer go;s into standby mode and I wake it up it, have no Printer port andI have to reboot computer to get printer port working
Please help

I assume that it still shows in the device manager, without errors beside it.

There is a good chance that its not the port itself, but whatever is hooked into that does not like stand-by mode.

Maybe you could give us details.

Also, if your mainboard is not certified Win9x compliant, you may have troubles with Advanced Power Management, lord knows the certified ones have enough of their own.

Anyway, a bit more information here would be helpful.

Let us know whats hooked up to the port, what the settings are for the offending port, etc...

I'm useing a FIC 503+ motherboard with a AMB 450 CPU
When I set Power Management in windows to go into Standby and when I start up again the printer port is not there.
Its alright if I set the computer to not go to standby and just set the monitor to goto start by all ok.
So just leave the monitor and harddrive to go into standby.
