I want to upgrade my old notebook and desktop, but HP's site is no real help. This model of desktop is not supported anymore. I'm not a total idiot, but I do need help. Would love to find soemwhere to just log into and let it scan my system to tell me what I can do to upgrade. I mean specifics with parts and everything so I don't buy the wrong thing and botch it all up! Is there such a place? Puhleeeeeeezzzze???? |

I don't know of a site that will do all that. There are software programs that can scan your system to tell you what you have. But you need to find the upgrade potential of your motherboard. this program can run in DOS and tells all kinds of info about what's inside a pc. http://www.hwinfo.com/ The OEM's I've been able to work with have had replacement parts and upgrades that are manufacturer specific. They often have riser cards, so upgrading to an ATX board often won't fill the bill. AT boards are really becoming outdated, the upgrade potential is not there anymore. IMO So ....... What do you have? What are your expectations? |
