I have an Asus A7V mobo with 64mb
of PC133 RAM with an 800mhz proc.
as the brain of my machine. The Problem
is when I hook my 300watt power supply
up and fire up the system it turns on but doesn't boot it just shuts right down including the
power supply. I don't even get POST or any beeps.
no screen at all. Any help would be greatly
apprcieated.

i'd check that you have the wiring hooked up properly, and also, if you can, check the cmos settings; especially power management.

take out every card except the video and disconnect all the drives see if the system boots. if it does then start one by one. adding the primary drive first and go from there

Check to see that the setting on the back of your power supply is set to the proper setting ,as i had this same problem and it tunred out to be set wrong.
