I have an old 486dx266 with 8 single memory chips. which gives me 8mb. I have loose two 16mb edo memory chips. Can I replace the 8mb with the 32mb or does the memory have to go in multipe of 4mb. Gerry |

The memory can be added in most configurations, and there are certain motherboards that did require specific memory to run properly (single sided vs. double-sided, edo vs. non-edo, etc..) but the majority of systems took most configurations. By the way, 32 is a multiple of 4. |
