I have an old 486dx266 with 8 single memory chips.
which gives me 8mb. I have loose two 16mb edo memory chips. Can I replace the 8mb with the 32mb
or does the memory have to go in multipe of 4mb.

The memory can be added in most configurations, and there are certain motherboards that did require specific memory to run properly (single sided vs. double-sided, edo vs. non-edo, etc..) but the majority of systems took most configurations.
By the way, 32 is a multiple of 4. |
