I have a AMD 600 that has 128.OMB Ram and I use Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition. The problem I have is that the keyboard and mouse stop working and I have to restart the computer to get them to work. Must time this happens when I am using the internet. This problem begun when I installed Norton Utilities and Microsoft DirectX 8.0 on my system. I've removed Northon Utilities form my system which helped a lot, but I am still having the problem sometimes. What can I to do solve the problem?

DirectX doesn't seem like a likely suspect, but you might remove it just the same. An IRQ conflict is more likely, but it would be real unusual for both keyboard and mouse to stop at the same time.
There is a possibility that your PS2 controller is dying. It's part of the chipset and can't be serviced. If you are showing no conflicts in device manager, I'd supect the controller.

If the problem only happens when you are dialed up to your ISP, you may want to try a different modem.
