When my wife came up with a digital camera,I had to add a USB card to her old Pentium 166 system that has 32 meg of ram. In order to get the card to work,I had to install Windows 98.when the computer was booted up after instillation, only 16 meg of ram was reccognized by the system.I have tryed installing Windows 95 back on the system,[still says 16 meg of ram]tryed another 32 meg sdram,[no change]pulled the USB card ,and STILL no change. Any Ideas to get her computer back up[and get her off mine] would help. Thanks Charles Wilson |

what about the post test when you boot up the computer? does it read the memory correctly? pull out the card and see if it reads correctly. or, try re-seating the ram stick(s). might have some dirt or something, may not be in the socket all the way, if you had to remove it for some reason. |
