Recently purchased a GeForce Annihilator Pro 32mb with DDR. At the moment it's running on an Intel board with 100mhz bus and PII 400mhz cpu. I am quite disappointed with it's performance. This card replaced a Savage 4 Pro 32mb. I couldn't notice any differences between the two cards. My questions are: Does system bus/cpu play a role in the performance of a video card and would they be worthwhile to replace? I forgot to mention my new video card is a 4x agp but will run on a 2x. My motherboard is a 2x agp. Will a 4x port help the card to run at it's fullest potential? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. |

Before replacing board and/or CPU check these: (1)drivers(2)BIOS settings(3)Frames per second (FPS) for each card in the same game. Many games have an FPS utility. How much SDRAM do you have? Question of replacement is up to you. How much do you want to spend? AMD CPUs support 200mhz FSB or better, and some mobos now have DDR SDRAM. AGP 4X couldn't hurt. Slot 1 is just about dead. Best wishes. |
