I moved my computer from one room to another, rehooked up the monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Monitor and mouse work fine, the keyboard shows a light on "NUM LOCK" but there is no communication between the keyboard and the computer. I've tried two other keyboards that work fine on other computers but won't work on this one. I even bought a new connector and tried that with all three keyboards but no luck. The computer is an IBM clone, 386 upgraded several years ago to Pentium. Never had this problem before and I know I'm plugging the keyboard into the right port. Any suggestions to solve this problem so I can again use this computer? |

it is possible the keyboard controller on the motherboard is bad. if that is the case you will have to replace the motherboard |
