I just picked up a used Compaq LTE 5250 laptop and cannot get the sound to work. It has a hotkey configuration, where you press the FN button and then the button with the Speaker pictured on it... it then puts a small speaker icon on the lcd, but I cant figure out how to actually raise the volume... anybody dealt with this before?

I hope you find the solution to this problem..I have a Presario 5280. I bought it brand new. I did not have sound for 3 mo. Compaq replaced the speakers & motherboard. Still no sound. (spent endless hours on the phone with support) Then...all of a sudden oneday, I had sound! That was almost 2 years ago, and have had sound eversince...but...not knowing the problem...you just NEVER know. I will keep checking back here to see what solutions might come in. Good Luck! Dee |
