invalid partition error

I have a 245 Meg Hard drive that always came up with an invalid partition error. I deleted all partitions and repartitioned the DOS primary partition, Then I was able to access the drive.
Now I have the following error message...
"Invalid media type reading drive C"
What do I do now to get this drive working?
