I am using Windows 98 Second Edition. Within a few minutes of bringing up my browser "Microsoft Internet Explorer" I start receiving error messages "kernel 32 dll error". In checking my memory I have 56.0 MB or Ram and System Resources are 75 % free. I have a total capacity of 9.54 GB and only 2.70 are used. I have ran a Scandisk and Disk Defrag but to no avail.... I have spent hours looking for information on how to fix this problem. The only patch I could find for this is for the Windows 95 version. I just did (Ctrl/Alt/Delete) and removed all programs running except for (Explorer/Systray/Virus).... someone....please help!!!!!!!

sounds like a dll error. you may need to recheck the versions for IE. specifically for the current version your browser is. webcheck.dll may be one, shdocvw.dll, can be another one.if they are the wrong version, it will give errors. and there is another one, too. but i can't remember the name at this time.

you'll have to find this out, and then try replacing them with the correct versions. also, if you have installed a program or patch lately, this may explain it, it might have replaced certain files with ones that are not the correct version.

hope this helps.
