For starters I don't know much about puters, so be very simple with me. I get a lot of kernel32.error messages. I keep getting kicked off of the internet, and I cannot run my maintenance wizard for errors keep coming up. Someone, anyone please help me. I contacted Gateway and I cannot return it for it is after 30 days and my software "warranty" ran out. I have 184 ram, and 500 processor...

184 ram? are you sure? i would check that, see how many sticks you have and how much ram each stick is.......

as far as the errors, that would do it, also. since you are getting kicked off the net, it is either the hardware, which, i just mentioned a sample..or software. which either you may have to reload the system, or replace the hardware and reload the system.

still doesn't sound right...... i had that combination at one time, the 128 + 64 = 192 megs. add the rest, and it came to around 196 megs + or minus a few kbs. it say's 184 on when the computer boots up? just need to make sure. this number is when you boot up the computer when it does a memory check, not when it's running.

I agree with you in that respect win, however, most people could care less about a Bios POST memory count and check memory from within windows which is probably what Dillard Steadman is doing. This is probably one case where available memory at POST isn't available to Windows. Especially with a Gateway.
