I have major problem with internet in Win2000. From time to time computer get frozen when it is online. It seems like application doesn't matter (Iexplorer 5.5, icq, media player...)
I had similar problem with win98 on same hardware, but win98 wasn't frozen 100%... mouse was working, but Ctrl-Alt-Del wasn't ?!...
Could this be some hardware/driver problems, or it is something else

Have experienced a similar problem and in my case the culprit was memory. Windows (all versions as far as I can tell) is a memory hog! The problem did not go away until I did two things. First I increased on board memory and then I added a memory manager. I am now using RamIdle from Zdnet (free) and have used FreememPro. Freemem is not as good and it costs money but it is fully automatic, running nicely in the background without any interference. Hope that helps.

have you installed the service pack #2? win2000 needs this, by the way.it does fix some things.

Yes. I have installed service pack 2... And even exchange memory and power supply, but it still happens occasionally.
My configuration is
-AMD K7 1Ghz
-ASUS A7V
-two hard drives
-DVD ROM
-CD burner
-SB Live! Player 5.1
-ASUS V7100 32 MB Geforce 2 MX graphic card
-512 MB memory
Most of these components have latest drivers.
