Help!! Is there any way to get around this error. "Explorer caused an Invalid Page Fault in module browseui.dll" I get it while booting up windows (98). The screen freezes and I cannot go any further. Tried to boot into safe mode and got the same error. Tried changing shell=explorer.exe to shell=progman.exe in system.ini and it did not help. Any ideas welcome. Thanks... |

sounds like a file version conflict. do you have any backups of an older file? also, it may not be this file itself. it may be another file altogether. have you installed any new software or upgrades? this info would help. |

Try reinstalling Internet Explorer if you can get to Windows. If not, you may have to reinstall Win98. You might try copying the browseui.dll file to a floppy and then deleting it from your Windows\System folder. This would be done in DOS. Then you would hopefully be able to get into Windows to reinstall IE. I would avoid IE 5.5 and stick with IE 5. Just a few possibilities, but I'm pretty sure IE is your problem. |
